BLACK WALNUT PIE 
1/2 c. plus 1 tbsp. sugar, divided
1 tbsp. flour
1 unbaked pastry shell
1 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
3 tbsp. butter
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1 c. chopped black walnuts or pecans or reg. walnuts
1 tbsp. sugar and flour

Combine 1 Tbsp. sugar and flour and sprinkle over bottom of pie shell, set aside. In a medium sauce pan bring corn syrup, brown sugar and remaining sugar to a boil. Remove from heat, stir in butter until melted. Let cool for 3 minutes. Gradually stir in eggs into hot mixture. Add walnuts and mix well. Pour into pie shell. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place pie in oven immediately reduce heat to 325°F and bake for 55 minutes, or until top is browned.
