AUGRATIN POTATOES | |
15 red potatoes 1 qt. milk (4 c.) 2 sticks butter 1 1/2 lb. Velveeta cheese (cut into sm. pieces or grated) 1. Boil the potatoes 15 minutes in their jackets. The potatoes should be firm. 2. Let the potatoes cool and then grate. (Use the longer size openings on the grater, like the one for mozzarella cheese.) 3. Heat over a low setting the milk, butter and cheese. When the butter melts and cheese gets creamy add to potatoes. 4. Bake at 350 degrees for 1-1 1/2 hours. The potatoes should be uncovered. 5. Note: I sometimes put pepper and onion flakes in the potatoes and usually grate Cheddar cheese and cover the top of the potatoes with the Cheddar. |
