CHOCOLATE - OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 (1 oz.) sq. chocolate, melted & cooled
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond flavoring
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. oatmeal
1 c. chopped pecans

Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs. Blend in chocolate, vanilla and almond flavoring. Mix flour with baking soda and salt; add to butter mixture. Stir in oats and nuts.

Use smallest ice cream scoop and place on cookie sheet, greased and flattened with sugared glass bottom. (Use dip spoon method if you don't have an ice cream scoop.) Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.
