RAISIN MOLASSES GEMS 
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg
1 c. raisins
Sugar (to roll)
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. ginger
Pinch of salt

Beat butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Add molasses and egg, beat well. Combine flour, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and salt. Add to molasses mixture; mix well. Add raisins, cover; refrigerate till chilled. Shape into 1 inch balls, roll in sugar. Place on greased pans 2 inches apart. Bake in upper third of preheated oven 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool immediately. Makes about 3 dozen.
