BOILED SPICE CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1 cube butter
1 c. raisins
2 c. water
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
Pinch salt
3/4 c. nuts
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Boil all ingredients (except the nuts, eggs, flour, vanilla and baking soda) for 5 minutes, let cool, then add the remaining ingredients to make a batter. Add nuts and vanilla. Put in greased 7 x 9 inch pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35 minutes.

FROSTING:

2 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 can milk
1/4 c. chopped nuts

Cream together powdered sugar and butter. Add enough can milk to a spreading consistency. Spread on cake. Then put nuts on top.
