BOILED RAISIN CAKE 
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. melted shortening
1 tsp. flavoring
1 c. raisin water, cooled
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. stewed raisin

Grease 2 loaf pans with shortening and dust with flour. Bake in moderate oven (approximately 350 degrees) for 40 minutes. Cool for several minutes and turn out cake on a cooling rack. Serve plain or with a glaze on top. Good with a hot drink.
