SWEDISH MEATBALLS | |
Meatballs You can make your own, but I would buy the package of precooked from Sams, you will use less than 1/2 of the bag. 1 tbsp. oil 1 med. onion (chopped) 1/2 c. catsup 1 med. green or red bell pepper, chopped 2 tbsp. of vinegar 1 1/2 tsp. cornstarch 1 (8 oz.) can pineapple (chunks or crushed), reserve juice 2 tbsp. sherry (optional) Chopped green onion for garnish Heat oil in skillet. Add salt, onion and bell pepper. Cook until tender but not browned. Drain oil. Combine catsup and vinegar, stir into bell pepper mixture. Make a paste with cornstarch and reserved pineapple juice. Add to vegetable mixture and cook stirring for 3 to 5 minutes or until mixture thickens. Stir in pineapple and sherry (if used). Simmer for 3 minutes, mix in thawed meatballs, heat through. Transfer into serving dish and garnish with green onion. |
