ENGLISH TOFFEE COOKIES 
Cream:

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar

Add:

1 egg yolk
1 tsp. vanilla

Then add:

2 c. flour, sifted with 1 tsp. cinnamon and 1/2 tsp. baking soda

Spread mixture in well greased 10 x 16 inch pan. Wet hands and press flat. Brush top with slightly beaten white of egg (use hands). Sprinkle with 1 cup chopped pecans. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Cut while hot and leave in pan until cool. Will freeze.
