SHORT RIBS IN BEER 
3 lbs. beef short ribs, cut into 3 inch pieces
1 med. onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1 can (12 oz.) beer
2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
1 med. bay leaf
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Microwave:

1. Place all ingredients in 5 quart casserole. Microwave, covered, at HIGH 5 minutes.

2. Reduce power to MEDIUM. Microwave 25 minutes. Stir. Microwave, covered, at MEDIUM until beef is tender, 25 to 35 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
