MONKEY BREAD
1 c. milk
4 tbsp. sugar
1 pkg. yeast
1 c. butter, melted
1 tsp. salt
3 1/2 c. flour

Combine milk, 1/2 cup butter, sugar and salt, heat until scalded. Cool to 105 to 110 degrees, then add yeast, stirring to dissolve. Place flour in large bowl, make a well in the flour, then pour in liquids. Stir until blended. Cover and let rise until doubled 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Turn dough onto floured surface. Roll to 1/4 inch thick, cut into 3 inch squares.

Dip each square into melted butter and layer into 10-inch tube pan or bundt pan. Let rise 30-40 minutes. Bake at 350 to 375 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Turn onto plate. Serve by pulling pieces off the ring. Serves 6-10. Can also dip 3-inch square into butter with cinnamon and sugar added to make a coffee cake or breakfast type bread.
