BROWN BETTY 
3 or 4 medium-sized apples, peeled and sliced
cinnamon
3 tbsp. butter, melted
cooked biscuits, crumbled
sugar

Put a layer of peeled and sliced apples in a baking dish. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and then bread crumbs. Repeat, ending with bread crumbs and butter on top. Sprinkle with water. Cook until apples are tender (about 30 to 40 minutes) and bread crumbs are brown in 400°F oven.

You may use more or less apples in which case other ingredients will vary according to taste.
