OLD MARYLAND WHITE FRUIT CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
2 1/4 c. flour
6 egg whites
1 c. sugar
1 lb. almonds, blanched and cut
1/2 lb. raisins
1/4 lb. citron

Cream butter and add flour. Beat until very light. Beat egg whites separately, until they stand up, add sugar and beat. Then fold egg and sugar mixture into butter and flour mixture. Add cut fruit, which you have dredged in a little flour. Bake 1 hour, 10 minutes, or until a straw comes out clean. Bake at 350 degrees.
