ORANGE-Y ALMOND LOAF | |
1/2 c. solid shortening (ONLY) 1 c. sugar 2 eggs, beaten 1 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. orange juice 1 tbsp. grated orange rind 1/2 c. sliced almonds Cream the shortening and sugar. Add eggs; beat well. Combine the dry ingredients and add alternately with the orange juice to the creamed mixture, beating well. Add the orange rind. Pour batter into well greased 1 pound loaf pan; sprinkle with almonds. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 50-60 minutes. |
