LAYERED GREEN SALAD | |
1 med. head lettuce, washed and broken into sm. pieces Salt, pepper and sugar 6 hard boiled eggs, sliced 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas, thawed and drained 8 to 10 slices bacon, crisply fried, drained and crumbled 2 c. Swiss cheese 2 or 3 slices purple onion, divided into rings 1 c. Miracle Whip Place 1/2 of the lettuce in bottom of large salad bowl, sprinkle with salt, pepper and dash of sugar. Layer eggs over lettuce in bowl, add dash of salt. Layer in order peas, remaining lettuce, bacon, cheese and onion rings. Spread Miracle Whip over top, like icing a cake, sealing to edge of bowl. Cover tightly and chill 24 to 48 hours. Toss before serving. Variations: Sliced celery and bell pepper rings. |
