OLD PUMPKIN PIE 
1 c. pumpkin (good home squash best)
Hunk of melted butter (size of an egg)
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. rich milk (part cream)
1/2 c. sugar (part brown)
1 heaping tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. each of cloves, allspice and cinnamon

Line 9-inch pie pan with your favorite pastry.

Mix pumpkin, egg, salt, sugar flavoring and flour together. Stir well. Add milk and melted butter. Pour into crust and bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350 degrees and continue baking for 15 to 20 minutes or until done. Pie is done when puffed up all over or when top is brown.
