VEGETABLE RICE BLEND | |
1 c. uncooked rice 2 vegetable bouillon cubes (vegetarian) 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. dried celery flakes 1 tsp. red bell pepper flakes 1 tsp. dried onion flakes 1 tsp. green pepper flakes Mix all ingredients and put in plastic bag or container. To cook combine rice mixture, 2 cups cold water and 1 tablespoon butter in heavy saucepan. Turn heat high. When mixture starts to boil, turn heat to medium-low. Stir once with fork. Cover tightly and simmer 12-14 minutes or until all liquid is absorbed. Serves 4-6. SPANISH RICE BLEND: 1 c. uncooked rice 2 tbsp. green pepper flakes 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. dried basil 1 tsp. dried Italian chopped parsley flakes Cook as vegetable rice blend. |
