WHEAT, EGG, MILK FREE BREAD 
2 1/2 c. whole rye flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. seedless raisins or chopped figs
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. warm water
1/4 c. molasses
2 tbsp. cooking oil or melted shortening

Combine and mix flour, baking powder and salt in bowl. Stir in raisins or figs. Combine soda, warm water, molasses and oil or melted shortening. Add liquids to dry ingredients; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn into greased loaf pan (9 x 5 x 3). Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees until done, 45 to 50 minutes.
