PINWHEEL MEAT LOAF 
2 lbs. ground beef
2 tsp. salt
Little pepper 1 c. sliced onion
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
2 tsp. sage
2 1/2 c. (1 can) sliced apples

Combine ground beef and salt and pepper; roll out as jelly roll. Brown onion in shortening, then combine with bread crumbs, sage and apples. Spread on meat and roll up jelly-roll fashion. Place in shallow pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour. (May use grated cheese instead of apples.)
