APPLE CRISP 
4 c. sliced tart apples
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
3/4 c. light brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. unsifted flour
1/2 c. oats
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. butter

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan peel apples, slice and place in pan and sprinkle with vanilla. Combine brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg and butter. Sprinkle over apples. Bake for 30 minutes or until apples are tender and topping golden brown. Light cream or soft vanilla ice cream on top if desired.
