BUTTER PECAN COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
2/3 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt

In a mixing bowl cream together the softened butter and sugar; blend in egg. Stir together flour and salt. Stir into creamed mixture. Cover and chill 1 hour. Shape into 1 inch balls; place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten in 1 direction with fork tines. Top each with a pecan half. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
