MARINATED VEGETABLE SALAD 
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. vinegar
1/2 c. salad oil
1 tbsp. water
1 lg. bell pepper, diced
1 lg. purple onion, sliced
1 c. celery, coarsely chopped
1 can tiny English peas, drained
1 can French green beans, drained
1 can white shoe peg corn, drained
1 jar pimento, drained

Mix pepper, salt, sugar, vinegar, salad, oil, and water. Bring to a rolling boil. Set aside to cool. Pour liquid over the combined vegetables. Let this sit in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
