MAYONNAISE SPICE CAKE
This recipe was from the telephone company when we got the bill. This was when I lived in Edmonds, WA about 45 years ago.

1 cup water
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup raisins
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Combine water, walnuts and raisins; set aside.

In mixing bowl beat together flour, mayonnaise, sugar, baking soda and spices. Mix thoroughly.

Add water, walnuts and raisins and mix thoroughly.

Pour into 9x13-inch cake pan and place in preheated oven. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes, or until done.

GLAZE:

1 (12 oz.) can frozen orange juice
1/2 cup brown sugar

Mix 1 can frozen orange juice with sugar and cream together to make a glaze. Let stand while cake bakes.

When cake is done (toothpick pulled out from middle of cake is dry) turn off oven and, spread glaze evenly over top of cake while it cools.

Allow to cool, cut into 10 to 12 pieces and ENJOY!
