2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla or lemon extract

Sift dry ingredients. Mix until smooth; butter, shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients a little at a time to the liquid. Cover and chill 1 hour. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Roll dough 1/8 inch thick on a floured board. Cut into any shapes and place on sheet. Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until golden.
