BREAKFAST CASSEROLE 
Sandwich bread
3/4 lbs. shaved ham
8 to 10 oz. mild Cheddar cheese
Canned mushrooms (optional)
3 c. milk
6 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dry mustard

Butter bottom of 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Remove crusts from bread. Line bottom of dish with bread slices. Layer ham, cheese and mushrooms. Cover with a layer of bread slices. Pour mixture of milk, eggs, salt and mustard which have been beaten together for 2 minutes, over the top. Top with bread crumbs or crumbs made from dry stuffing mixture. Dot with butter. Prepare 24 hours ahead and refrigerate. Bake 1 hour and 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Let set before slicing and serving. Serves 8.
