OATMEAL RAISIN COOKIES 
1 c. Golden raisins
3 c. dark raisins
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
2 c. walnuts, chopped
2 c. old fashioned oats
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 lg. eggs, slightly beaten
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 c. prunes, chopped

Put raisins in 1 cup boiling water for 30 minutes, drain and keep 1/2 cup liquid. Cream butter and sugar, add vanilla and eggs. Alternate flour mixture and reserved liquid. Stir in raisins, oats, nuts, prunes. Drop by teaspoon onto buttered cookie sheet. Flatten slightly. Bake 400 degrees 6 to 8 minutes. Cool 3 minutes, transfer to rack.
