PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 lb. 14 oz. can pineapple slices, drained
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
Maraschino cherries
Pecan halves (optional)

Melt butter over low heat in a 9 x 13 x 2 inch pan. Sprinkle brown sugar over butter. Arrange pineapple slices in bottom of cake pan. Decorate with cherries and pecan halves. Prepare cake mix as directed on package. Water may be replaced with pineapple juice that was drained. Pour over pineapple and bake for 45 to 55 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Invert pan immediately after taking from oven. Let set a few minutes before removing from pan. Yields 12 to 15 servings.
