MANDARIN SALAD 
1/2 head iceberg lettuce
1/2 head Romaine lettuce
1 c. celery chopped or sliced
2 whole green onions sliced
1 (11 oz.) can mandarin oranges drained
1/2 c. almonds sliced
3 tbsp. sugar

Sauté almonds in a little water and sugar until dissolved and candied (stir so they do not burn). Tear lettuce in bowl, add vegetables and oranges on top.

Dressing:

1/2 tsp. salt (or less)
dash of pepper
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. white vinegar

Mix together and refrigerate. Toss with salad just before serving and add almonds.
