YEASTLESS WHOLE WHEAT BREAD 
2 c. buttermilk
2 tbsp. melted butter
3 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. lightly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Don't preheat oven. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan. Whisk milk and butter in small bowl. Stir dry ingredients in large bowl. Make a well in center; pour in liquid and stir until smooth. Spread evenly in loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. (Place pan in center rack of oven.)

This recipe was very easy to put together. Obviously it will not have the lightness of a bread with yeast. I would characterize this bread as a breakfast bread. It's a little denser and has a lovely sweetness with the brown sugar. I didn't expect my dad to like it but he loved it and it made the house smell amazing!
