1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tbsp. grated orange peel (real or on spice rack)
2 tbsp. dark Karo syrup
1 tbsp. water
3 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
Red hots for bow tie
Icing for decorating

Cream butter, sugar, and egg. Mix in dry ingredients. Chill 2 hours. Roll out and cut. Place on greased cookie sheet. Hole in top to string ribbon through. Use pencil tip to sculpt face before you put in oven. Can put names on. 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
