SCOTTISH SHORT - BREAD 
1 lb. butter (real butter)
1 c. white sugar
6 c. all-purpose flour
2 egg yolks

Mix the butter, sugar, and flour with your hands and work it until it is well blended and it makes a stiff dough. Add the beaten egg yolks and work with your hands until well blended and dough becomes an even color. Divide into four balls. Pat out on an ungreased cookie sheet. Prick the top of the dough with a fork. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 15 minutes, then turn temperature down to 325 degrees for 20 minutes more. Do not overcook. Slice while still warm. Cool on rack and store in tight can.
