CHOCOLATE OATMEAL CAKE 
1 c. oatmeal
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. cocoa
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts (optional)

Pour boiling water over oatmeal and set stand for 20 minutes. Cream butter and sugars; add eggs and vanilla. Add flour, soda, salt, cocoa and cinnamon. Mix. Add nuts, add oatmeal, mix good and bake about 45 minutes at 375 degrees in round pan (like angel food pan) or 13 x 9 inch pan.

FROSTING:

2 2/3 c. powdered sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
1/3 c. soft butter
3 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. nuts

Mix all together and spread on cake.
