FAVORITE BUTTERMILK BISCUITS | |
2 c. flour 1 tbsp. baking powder 2 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 c. shortening 2/3-3/4 c. buttermilk 1/2 tsp. baking soda Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and cream of tartar. Cut in the shortening. Combine the buttermilk with the baking soda and add to the above mixture. Knead 10-12 times. Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut with 2 3/4 inch biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on lightly greased cookie or baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. |
