SAVORY POTATO GRATIN 
4-5 med. potatoes, peeled & sliced
3-4 med. onions, peeled & sliced
2 tbsp. butter
4 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
1 tsp. salt
Dash of black pepper
Dash of nutmeg
1 tsp. dried thyme leaves
3 tbsp. chopped parsley
1/2 c. whipping cream
Paprika (opt.)

1. Saute onions in butter in a large skillet until soft and transparent.

2. In a shallow baking dish, arrange in layers sliced potatoes and onions, sprinkling with garlic and seasonings in between layers for best flavor.

3. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes.

4. Add whipping cream all over top. Sprinkle with paprika, if used.

5. Increase temperature to 400 degrees. Bake for another 10 to 20 minutes until potatoes are soft and fork tender and gratin slightly browned on top. Serves 4.
