FRIED PIE DOUGH 
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 1/3 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. buttermilk

Roll out after kneading well. Roll out about as big as a salad plate.

FRUIT FILLING FRIED PIES:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. dried apples, cooked until tender
3/4 c. flour
3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 tbsp. cloves
1/2 tbsp. allspice

Cook until thickened. Add 1 tablespoon butter. Put 1 tablespoon on rolled pie dough and cook in hot pan of Crisco oil and brown on one side, turn and brown on the other side. Take out and drain on paper towel.
