SMOTHERED STEAK 
1 1/4 lbs. stew meat
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 lg. onion
1 lb. can tomatoes
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1-2 green peppers
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
3 tbsp. soy sauce

Place stew meat, flour, salt and pepper in a crock pot. Stir ingredients in pot well to coat all of the meat. Add all remaining ingredients. Cover and cook for 1 hour on high and turn on low for 8 hours (or high for 5 hours). Serve with rice or noodles.

If you don't have a crock pot, this recipe can be cooked in an electric skillet at 200 degrees for 3 to 4 hours. If you are cooking this in an electric skillet or on a slow burner, be sure to stir as seldom as possible because the secret to this dish is the appearance of the ingredients. When stirred too often, vegetables tend to become mushy.
