SCALLOPED CABBAGE 
1 sm. head cabbage
7 to 9 slices bread
1 c. milk (hot)
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 qt. casserole dish

Cook chopped cabbage for 4 minutes; drain. Make white sauce in blender; put milk, salt, pepper and sugar; add 5 to 7 slices of bread (1 at a time as your blender works) until mixture is as thick as you like. Stir cabbage together with white sauce; pour into casserole dish. Cover with buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Turn up heat a few minutes to brown topping.

BUTTERED BREAD CRUMBS:

2 slices bread, buttered & folded

Break in pieces, run thru the blender to shred. Pour on waxed paper to dry a few minutes before using as topping.
