HAMBURGER STROGANOFF 
1 lb. ground beef
3 strips bacon
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 can low salt cream of mushroom soup
1 c. sour cream

Cook enough shell macaroni to feed 6 adults.

Brown bacon strips and remove and drain on paper towel. Leave bacon fat in skillet. Brown ground beef in the fat and onions. Break up bacon. When onions and beef are cooked, add to mixture. Add mushroom soup. Heat thoroughly but don't let it boil.

3 minutes before serving add sour cream to hamburger mixture. Cook macaroni separately as usual; drain.

Serve by placing macaroni on plates and put hamburger mixture over macaroni. Sprinkle with poppy seeds. If you add the sour cream too early, or let it get too hot, it will curdle.
