ORANGE POUND CAKE | |
1 1/2.c butter, softened 1 1/4 c. sugar 6 eggs 2 tbsp. grated orange peel 2 tsp. orange extract 2 1/4 c. flour 1 pkg. pudding pulver (vanilla) 2 tsp. baking powder 1/3 c. orange juice GLAZE: 1 c. powdered sugar, sifted 3-4 tsp. warmed orange juice Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a gugelhupf or Bundt cake pan. Cream butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs slowly, orange peel and extract. Beat until well blended. Sift flour, pudding-pulver and baking powder together. Stir into sugar mixture alternately with orange juice. Beat until blended. Pour into pan. Smooth top and tap pan onto countertop to release air. Bake 60-70 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Turn cake onto wire rack. Turn cake onto platter. Beat powdered sugar and orange juice until smooth; spoon over cake. |
