FUDGE MINT TORTE 
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1 1/2 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
Creme de menthe filling

Grease 3 (9" x 1 1/2") round layer pans; line with wax paper; grease paper. Combine chocolate pieces and butter in small saucepan. Place over very low heat just until melted; remove from pan. Transfer chocolate mixture to large bowl. Beat in sugar. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time. Beat in flour until well blended. Pour into prepared pans, dividing evenly. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 375 degrees or until the tops spring back when lightly touched. Cool on wire racks for 10 minutes. Invert; peel off paper; cool completely. Stack and fill layers with Creme de Menthe filling. Garnish top with chocolate shavings if desired.

FILLING:

2 c. heavy cream
1/4 -1/3 c. green Creme de Menthe
2 tbsp. confectioners' sugar

Whip all filling ingredients together until stiff.
