BUTTERMILK PIE 
1 stick butter
3 tbsp. flour
3 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
a few drops lemon juice
2 c. sugar

Cream butter with 2 cups sugar. Add flour, then add egg yolks, buttermilk, vanilla and lemon juice. Fold in 3 beaten egg whites. Put in unbaked crust and bake 10 minutes at 400°F, then 300°F for 30 minutes. This pie usually bakes longer, about an additional 15 to 30 minutes. Keep checking, it bakes a little differently each time, but it's worth it.
