GRANDMA'S NO MESS ROAST TURKEY 
Turkey
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. MSG
1 apple (opt.)
1 onion & parsley (opt.)
1 lg. size heavy duty grocery bag

Rinse and dry turkey, removing giblets. Salt cavity. Choose apple or onion and parsley and place in cavity. Melt butter and mix with garlic salt, salt, paprika, pepper and MSG. Place in refrigerator until mixture is of spreadable consistency. When ready, place 1 tablespoon in bottom side of bag. Put 1 tablespoon butter mixture in neck cavity and under breast skin. Place turkey inside the bag, spreading remaining butter over turkey. Fold open end of bag together and secure it. Place turkey in roasting pan and place in oven. Cook 15 minutes per pound. Thirty minutes prior to removing turkey, tear off top part of bag to allow browning. Baste as desired. Cool 15 minutes before serving.

are now recycled paper I stopped doing it. The bird turned
out so good I would like to use this method. Is it safe to
use present day recycled bags?

I have used this method for years with no problems. My turkey is cooking as I write this in a paper bag!!
