SWEET CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. German sweet chocolate

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and mix well. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add alternately with buttermilk and vanilla. Mix well.

Add German chocolate that has been softened in double boiler. Blend together well. Pour batter into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 300 degrees about 1 1/2 hours or until done.
