DATE PUDDING CAKE 
1 c. cut up dates
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
Pinch of salt
1 c. flour
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Pour boiling water over cut up dates; add butter (butter) and let stand. While warm, add soda. Combine flour and sugar. Add nuts. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes. Bake in 8 x 8 inch pan or 9 x 9 inch pan. Serve with whipped cream or frozen yogurt.
