FRUIT KUCHEN 
1/2 lb. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt
1 can cherry (or other fruit) pie filling (or thicken own fruit)

Cream butter with sugar. Mix in eggs, one at a time. Continue beating. Add flour, vanilla and salt. Grease 9x13 inch pan. Reserve 1 cup batter. Put remainder in greased pan and spread evenly (rather thick). Spread pie filling or thickened fruit over batter. Dot remainder of batter over fruit. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
