CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE 
1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 c. milk
3 squares semi-sweet chocolate
4 egg yolks
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Dash of salt

Meringue:

4 egg whites
Dash of Cream of Tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 to 1/2 c. white sugar

Mix flour, sugar, milk and chocolate and cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat and add egg yolks, beaten. Return to heat and continue to cook until mixture comes to a full boil and continue for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla and salt. Immediately pour into cooked pie crust.

For meringue mix egg whites, cream of tartar, and vanilla together until stiff peaks form. Add sugar gradually and mix well after addition. Continue to beat until soft peaks form.

Spread over pie and bake in 350°F oven until peaks are brown.
