FRENCH ONION SOUP - PAM'S 
1/2 c. butter, melted
8 c. thinly sliced or grated onions
1 1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste
3 tbsp. flour
8 c. beef stock
1/3 c. sautern wine
6 slices French bread or croutons
6 slices Swiss cheese or grated cheese

Brown onions in butter, salt and pepper, add flour and stir. Remove from heat. In saucepan bring beef stock to boil, reduce heat. Add onions and simmer 40 minutes. Skim off fat, add wine. Broil slice cheese on sliced bread or grated cheese on croutons. Place bread/croutons in bowls and spoon in soup.
