VERSATILE DROP COOKIES 
1 c. shortening (Crisco, white)
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
4 c. sifted enriched flour
1 tsp. vanilla or lemon or orange extract
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Mix with electric mixer the Crisco, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix all dry ingredients together in 1 separate bowl. Then alternately mix the cup of milk and dry ingredients into the shortening, sugar, and egg mixture. Bake in hot oven (375 degrees), depending on cookie size. Bake small, 8 to 10 minutes or until brown; medium, 10 to 12 minutes or until brown.
