REFRIED BEANS 
2 lb. pinto beans, cooked
2 med. onions, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 c. oil
1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. black pepper
Salt or soy sauce to taste

Saute onions until they start to brown, add garlic and continue cooking until very brown. Drain beans, reserving juice. Add beans to saute mixture with enough juice to mash easily. Add spices, cook and mash until thick, adding more juice if needed. This is a large recipe, but they are better left over.
