FREEZER BISCUITS (ANGEL
BISCUITS)
 
1 pkg. yeast
2 tbsp. warm water
5 c. unsifted flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
2 c. buttermilk

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening. Add dissolved yeast to buttermilk and blend liquids into dry ingredients. Turn dough out on lightly floured board. Roll and cut into biscuits. Freeze biscuits on baking sheet. When biscuits are hard, transfer to freezer bags. About 30 minutes before baking, dip biscuits in melted butter. Bake at 400 degrees until browned.
