SCOTCH SHORTBREAD 
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. flour

Mix butter and sugar, then add flour and mix thoroughly. Chill dough. Roll 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick, cut out with cookie cutter and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 20-25 minutes at 300 degrees. Tops do not brown. Shape does not change.
